If you plan to use insurance, two key factors determine how much you will pay:

1. Your plan benefits for mental health, deductibles, co-payments and/or coinsurance.

2. Whether In Balance Studio is an in-network or out-of-network provider with your insurance.

In Balance Studio is currently in-network with:

  • UPMC Commercial Health Plans and UPMC CHIP Plans

Out-of-Network Benefits:

1. Call your Insurance Carrier and ask them for their reimbursement rates for “outpatient mental health provider non-facility”, specifically billing codes: 90781 (diagnostic interview) and 90876 (individual therapy 60 minutes).

2. At your session, you will pay your session fee up-front and request an electronic Superbill.

3. Then, submit your Superbill to your Insurance Carrier for Reimbursement.

Counseling

Initial counseling assessment (first session):  60-75 minute session; $175

Regular counseling session:  Ages:  2-18; 60 minute session; $150*

Family counseling session:  60 minute session; $150*  

Virtual counseling session:  60 minute session; $150* (some insurances now covering, PA clients only) 

*Extended session:  15 minute increments, $38

NOTE:  Extended sessions are not covered by insurance.

Consultations and coaching

Consultations via phone/video conferencing:  15 minute increments; $38

If I need to have a phone or video calling conference with other professionals as part of your treatment, you will be billed for these at the same rate, $38/15 minutes.  We will discuss this in advance, so we can set parameters that are comfortable for both of us. Of course, there is no charge for brief calls about appointments or similar business (typically a 5 minute conversation.)

Coaching sessions via phone/video calling:  60 minute session; $150
NOTE:  Insurance does not pay for phone or video consultation or coaching calls.  Payment collected at the beginning of our session via credit or debit card.

WRITTEN REPORTS & OTHER SERVICES

Cost for written reports and other services:  15 minute increments; $38

Charges for other services, such as hospital visits, consultations with other therapists, home visits, school meetings, or any court-related services (such as consultations with lawyers), will be based on the time involved in providing the service at my regular fee schedule of $120/hour. Some services may require payment in advance.
